Franciscan Province – MALTA

During the month of April, on the initiative of Fr. Leo Ciantar, the Franciscan Chapel at the Addolorata Cemetery was restored.  Among the works that were undertaken, was the plastering of the walls, the changing of the titular of the chapel was replaced by a replica of the one that in the Franciscan Chapel found at the Church in Valletta.  New chandeliers were bought to be placed on the main altar, together with new vestments.

(Pictures added) On Wednesday 23, the Provincial Minister, Fr Sandro Overend OFM, was in New York at the invitation of the Immaculate Conception Province (I.C.) for the celebration of the centenary of its foundation.

On the 18th of June, Fr Banjamin Galea celebrated the 70th anniversary of his priestly commitment.  The event took place at Saint Paul’s Home for the elderly at Ħamrun where he is currently residing.  During this special celebration of the Eucharist, presiding by the Minister Provincial and other friars, focused on the ministerial work that Fr Benjamin was responsible for and the great care he manifested towards the friars especially in war time, when at the time he was the provincial bursar.

During the last past days, the Province’s web site has been upgraded with new and the latest which can now be accessible to everyone.  On one of the pages, which is popular with many is the Power-Point presentation where one can find all the Sundays’ power-point on one page.
