Feast of the Franciscan Family
On 29 November evening, the Franciscan Family in Malta gathered at CAK Centre in Birkirkara to celebrate Feast of All Saints of the Franciscan Family on the occasion of the confirmation of the Rule of St. Francis by Pope Honorius III on 29 November 1223.
Mass at the cemetery
The Franciscan Province last Saturday 24 November organised a Mass at the Addolorata Cemetery. The Mass is celebrated each year in the funerary chapel of the Province, during the month of November in order to pray for the friars who have left us and now rest in peace.
Three day Seminar in preparation for Chapter
From Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 November all the Franciscan friars were invited, according to three age-groups, to take part in a Seminar in preparation for the Provincial Chapter 2008. The Seminar was held at the Porziuncola Retreat House in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.
Visitator General on Introductory Visit
Fr. Austin McCormack OFM, Visitator General to the Maltese Franciscan Province, was on his first official visit in Malta since his appointment to the post of Visitator and President of the upcoming Provincial Chapter. The aim of the visit was that of paving the way for the Chapter and preparing an agenda for its proceedings.
